We offer a unique stay in a small village 20 minutes drive from West Bali's capital Negara. In this village you will experience the real Bali, by participating in the daily life of the Balinese people. This will be a truly unique experience!

Day 1:

Arrival in the village around noon. A welcome drink will be offered to you by the local people, followed by a traditional lunch. After lunch you will have time to relax, explore the surrounding and meet the local people. In the afternoon you will go for a walk through the rice paddies, a nice way to see the green environment! After the walk you will be brought back to the village with the original dokar (horsecart), where you can enjoy the cool breeze and nice scenery. In the evening an authentic Balinese dinner will be prepared for you by the villagers. After dinner relax and stay overnight in a comfortable house, where you will have your own room.

Day 2:

After breakfast you will be brought to Gilimanuk, the most western point of Bali. You will make a boattrip where you will explore mangroves, deserted beaches and, if you’re lucky, the endangered Bali starling bird. Of course, you can also go for swimming and some snorkeling (bring your own snorkeling gear or rent on the spot). A lunchbox will be provided on one of the beautiful beaches. After lunch you will go back to the shore and will be brought to a traditional harbour, where you can see lots of beautifully coloured fishingboats. At last you will visit one of the most important temples of this region, pura jati. After this you will return to the village. In the evening you will visit the pasar malam (nightmarket) in the capital of West Bali, Negara, where you will have your dinner.    

Instead of the boattrip from Gilimanuk it is also possible to do a boattrip to Menjangan island. If you really like snorkeling and diving we recommend this boattrip (since it is one of the best places for snorkeling and diving in Bali). However, this place is more crowded and more expensive (there will be a surcharge if you choose for this excursion).

Day 3:

After breakfast you will start with a cooking class. First you will visit the market in Negara, where will see lots of different fresh fruits, vegetables, spices and traditional cakes. After visiting the market you will return to the village where you will start cooking together with the local people. You will help with preparing several authentic dishes, all with ingredients from the region and own garden. Once all is ready you can try your self-made dishes for lunch. After lunch it is time to say goodbye. You will leave the village, hopefully full of good memories.

The above mentioned program is flexible and can be adjusted to your own choice. On certain days it is also possible to watch an exciting buffalo race (usually in the weekends) or to join a traditional ceremony (on request together with Babi Guling, traditional Balinese sukkling pig).  Furthermore the program is good to combine with other places in Bali and east Java.
